Since my bachelor’s degree was slowly coming to an end and I definitely wanted to get to know and do something completely new, I decided to apply to Good Hope Center e.V. Through my studies, I was particularly interested in how physical education is taught in a developing country like Tanzania. Getting to know an entirely new culture and supporting people were further reasons for my application. The three months that I lived and worked in Ngorika/ Kikatiti were a huge adventure. I can say that I don’t regret being there for a single minute, and I gained many new experiences, saw unique places and animals and got to know a completely different life and culture. I grew very fond of the teachers, supervisors, and children because they were like family to me. I learned from them that you could live a happy life with few things, and it was nice to see how happy, cheerful and open-minded the children were, despite the difficult life situations.
